Business Systems Analyst

What we’re looking for…

  • This individual will provide applications support including troubleshooting of enterprise freight and customs brokerage related systems.  Participate in the design & development and launch of business systems, especially integrations with internal and external systems.
  • Must have experience with EDI/Integrations development. Some experience MS SQL is required. Experience working in a 3PL, Freight Forwarder or Logistics company is a plus and Specifically CargoWise One (CW1) knowledge is a BIG plus.

About the Position

Duties and responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  • Builds workflows, using Cargowise Macros, mapping business and system documents on the Cargowise Platform.
  • Manages CargoWise One system design and propose CargoWise One changes based on user requirements.
  • Use CW1 eAdaptor to manage integrations using EDI/XML into and out of the CW1 platform
  • Work on fine-tuning reports, build new ones
  • Extract KPI’s and build complex views of database.
  • Client ERP integrations and managing EDI data sets
  • Collaborate with project managers to determine the project scope and how to efficiently execute projects
  • Develop detailed functional designs, system specifications, including data conversion, interfaces, and custom reporting to ensure business requirements are met
  • Provide support and assist with production system related issues
  • Prepare and propose recommendations, or alternatives that address existing and potential problem areas in application systems across the organization
  • Manage and track the status of requirements throughout the project lifecycle

  • Good experience with database management and can deliver MS SQL Code. Experience with data warehouse, BI, and dashboards is a PLUS
  • Good systems analysis or systems design experience in multiple projects
  • Understands EDI formats well and is able to understand specifications and deliver EDI Projects using toolkits (Like Gentran or Oracle B2B Integrator etc.). Is familiar with industry specific EDI like 800, 200 & 300 series for ANSI X12 and corresponding EDIFACT formats.
  • Understands other integration methodology like XML, Web Services etc.
  • Good domain knowledge of Freight Forwarding / NVOCC industry is a plus.
  • CargoWise One (CW1) application knowledge and understanding is a BIG plus. Specifically, experience with eAdaptor, User repositories, Workflow design etc. within CW1 using their Universal XML formats, Macros and SQL code.
  • Can create good requirement definition documents and be able to translate them to technical definition documents.
  • Has experience in project management and exposure to project management methodologies, including ability to push lateral teams towards a common purpose.
  • Experience with complex backend systems and web application integration, such as freight system, customs brokerage system, Procurement and logistic system for 3PL, 4PL, etc.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, interpersonal skills with a good level of customer facing experience.
  • Knowledge of a process based delivery methodology like ISO, Six Sigma or CMMi is a Plus
  • A Scrum Master Certification or other such certifications in Agile development methodologies is a Plus.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university and five to ten years related experience.
